I live in Florida. The garage is becoming a family room.

GBA Editor | Posted in Energy Efficiency and Durability on

The room will need to be insulated. With foam board will I need a plastic barrier?
Then wood frame with sheetrock.
Thank you for reading.
Any advice will be helpful.

    Doug,
You'll need to answer a few more questions before we can help you.
    1. What type of foam board will you be installing? How thick?

    2. Where do you plan to put the foam board? Between the studs? Across the face of the studs on the inside? Or over the exterior sheathing?

    3. What do you mean by a plastic barrier? In Florida, you should never install a layer of interior polyethylene. But perhaps you are referring to a plastic housewrap like Tyvek or Typar?
