Sealing around Sprinkler Heads

Bowler222 | Posted in Energy Efficiency and Durability on

I was recently reminded that the municipality where I am building my home requires that new residences be sprinkled. I am looking for some advice on the best practice to air seal around the fire suppression sprinkler heads where they penetrate the air tight drywall. Do sprinkler heads generally come with an air tight box similar to electrical boxes that I can then seal around with foam or sealant? The sprinklers will be installed in a vaulted ceiling.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
