Adding foam to the outside of my existing home

I would like to add rigid foam to the outside of my stuco home and then re stuco the added foam. What problems will I face?

    Bruce,
    I have no idea if you will face any problems. Here are links to two articles on these issues:

    To Install Stucco Right, Include an Air Gap

    Rather than installing conventional stucco, you may want to install EIFS (rigid foam plus synthetic stucco). You can enter "EIFS" into the GBA search box to learn more about EIFS.
