Henry Blueshield housewrap

dbernard | Posted in Energy Efficiency and Durability on

I am going to be stripping and residing my house with vinyl. I was looking at this product for air sealing the exterior walls — or is taping the OSB seams just as effective?
Thanks,
dave.

    David,
I think that the product is called Blueskin, not Blueshield.

Henry Blueskin is an effective air barrier. It's a peel-and-stick product that is vapor-permeable. It's not cheap.

If you do a very careful job of taping the OSB seams with a quality tape like Siga Wigluv or Zip System tape, you can do an excellent job of air sealing. Henry Blueskin will also produce excellent results, and is maybe more foolproof (but more expensive).
