I want to install 18″ cedar shingles over logs on a 20 year old log house. What is the best procedure. Thanks, Robert

    I would first fur the wall out, then fill the cavities with spray foam to ensure there is no air circulating under the rain screen. Next rain screen with horizontal hollow PVC furring strips and attach the shingles to these.
