Plywood or ZIP sheathing

Our wall assembly will be 2×6 framed wall with cellulose, sheathing (ZIP or plywood), 2″ foil faced polyiso (2 – 1″ layers), furring, then hardiplank.

My first thought was to use the Zip sheathing for the the air barrier properties but now thinking I can get the same effect with taped seams of plywood.

Any opinions?

    Troy,
    Either approach will work. If you choose Zip System sheathing, you'll use Zip System tape, of course.

    If you choose plywood, I recommend that you tape the seams with 3M All Weather Flashing Tape, Siga Wigluv, or and Siga Sicrall. These three tapes all performed well on plywood in my backyard tape test.
