Basement rigid insulation
Im installing 2”xps against concrete basement walls using insulation adhesive and foaming gaps. However, bracing the rigid panels while the adhesive sets up is proving time consuming. Can I use a concrete screw and washer to brace the panel? Best practices appreciated.

Frank,
Q. "Can I use a concrete screw and washer to brace the panel?"
A. Yes. You can also use vertical furring strips (1x3s or 1x4s) attached through the foam to the concrete with Tapcons or similar concrete fasteners.

Thnx Martin. would a Ramset 3” nail work with a firring strip on top of the xps?

IMHO, i wouldn't trust a Ramset over time to hold up with drywall attached. I prefer Tapcon screws. Either way, with 2" of foam, 3/4" furring strip, I'd like at least a 3 1/2" fastener, or better yet 4".

Thnx..the Tapcon screws with fender washer worked great...sucked in the panel nicely and project going smoothly.
