What is the best synthetic roof underlayment available?
I have seen literally a dozen synthetic roof underlayments for asphalt shingles. The prices are all over the place. Is there a chart or magazine that compares the relative merits of each?
confused

Chris, roofing is sold now as a system which you follow and receive a warranty from. Your supplier and manufacturer will sell you the right system for each particular job.
Lifetime warranty is the norm now and the top few are about the same.
Whatever brand you use ask the rep to swing by and set you on a path.
It's not worth doing low price roofing anymore, way too much overhead costs today.

Chris,
Here's a link to the article you are looking for: Synthetic Roofing Underlayments.
Short version: use asphalt felt.

Martin, you are too deep in the woods. Every roof here is being built with a one company system that comes with a better warranty. You and I love felt but it is not the way to go.
