What is the best economical way to maintain landscapes?

Jenny,
I suppose the most economical way to maintain a landscape is to never disturb the natural vegetation and let Mother Nature take care of everything. All forms of development are forms of ecological degradation, so Rule #1 is, "Don't develop."
