Double glazing

dnclayton | Posted in Green Products and Materials on

I am replacing some glazing in home built units. Planning low E-argon. Looking for recommendations re alternatives to aluminum for the edge spacers of units. Minimum thickness of space between glass will be 3/8″.

Your vendor should be able to offer "warm edge" spacers instead of metal.

    Doug,
I'm not sure what you mean by "home built units." Are you making your own IGUs (insulated glazing units) from two sheets of single glazing? Or do you want to buy IGUs?

If you want to buy IGUs, go to your local glass shop and ask about warm-edge spacers, as David suggests.
