Liquid applied air / moisture barrier application

rsilverio | Posted in Green Products and Materials on

We typically use 2 layers of building wrap for stucco wall finish.
If we use liquid applied barrier, do we need 2 coats of it or what are the guidelines in using liquid applied air/moisture barrier on stucco?

    Raymond,
You should obviously follow the installation instructions provided by the manufacturer of the liquid-applied WRB. But I would install a layer of building wrap over the liquid-applied stucco, at a minimum, for a stucco application -- and ideally, I would find a way to include an air gap between the stucco and the WRB. For more information, see To Install Stucco Right, Include an Air Gap.
