EarthPaint Products

user-6026880 | Posted in Green Products and Materials on

Is there a reason that none of the various products sold by EarthPaint are not consider “green” by Green Building Advisor?

A review of their materials: no petroleum products, low- or no-VOCs, etc.

What am I missing? Thanks.

I imagine Martin will respond to your question.

On another note, I checked out the EarthPaint website and am a little concerned that it did not contain any certification information. Lack of certification doesn't necessarily mean there is anything wrong with there products, but I'm always suspicious of "green" products that haven't undergone third-party evaluation.

When I was shopping for a zero VOC paint, I came across RomaBio. Its products are certified and have turned out to be an excellent choice for our home.

    Andy,
I have no experience with EarthPaint products. Perhaps a GBA reader who has used these paints will respond.

Steve's suggestion concerning third-party certification is a good one.

The product guide on GBA makes no claims to being comprehensive, and frankly, we have been struggling in recent months to keep it up-to-date. So the fact that a product isn't listed in the GBA product guide doesn't mean that the product isn't any good.
