Description

Emercor manufactures structural insulated panels (SIPs) for exterior walls, foundation and basement walls, and roofs. These SIPs are made with polyurethane foam insulation injected between the skins during manufacture. They are available, like most SIPs, with OSB as both the exterior and interior skins, or with alternate skins, including plywood, cement board, and (interior only) drywall. Emercor SIPs are available in 4-1/2" and 6-1/2" thicknesses, four-foot width, and eight- and ten-foot lengths. According to Emercor, these SIPs insulate to R-28 (4-1/2") or R-44 (6-1/2"). The company’s 2-7/16"-thick insulated rimboard (R-14) decreases air leaks around the floor perimeter and comes in eight-foot lengths in widths ranging from 9-1/2" to 24".
