General Electric has over 100 Energy StarLabeling system sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency and the US Department of Energy for labeling the most energy-efficient products on the market; applies to a wide range of products, from computers and office equipment to refrigerators and air conditioners.-listed refrigerators with some models exceeding Energy Star by several percentage points. The most efficient top-freezer, bottom-freezer, and side-by-side models use as little as 311, 430, and 438 kWh/year, respectively. GreenSpec does not recommend the compact models because of their very low per-volume efficiency.
