Nichiha offers a line of panelized fiber-cement siding installed with special clips that hold the panels away from the sheathingMaterial, usually plywood or oriented strand board (OSB), but sometimes wooden boards, installed on the exterior of wall studs, rafters, or roof trusses; siding or roofing installed on the sheathing—sometimes over strapping to create a rainscreen. to provide a rainscreenConstruction detail appropriate for all but the driest climates to prevent moisture entry and to extend the life of siding and sheathing materials; most commonly produced by installing thin strapping to hold the siding away from the sheathing by a quarter-inch to three-quarters of an inch. exterior to control water intrusion and increase the durability of the entire wall system. Most panels come in 6', 8', or 10' sections, in heights ranging from approximately 8" to 18" and thicknesses ranging from 1/2" to 1". Depending on the product, the manufacturer offers a 30-year or 50-year transferable warranty.
