Inspect building sites for toxic contaminants

Previous uses could have left contamination behind.
When considering a building site, especially a former home or farm, be sure to check for toxic materials. Soil contaminated with lead, methane or petroleum products could pose health risks. Household dumps or sites previously used for agriculture may be contaminated with pesticides and other toxins; orchards are particularly problematic.
