Place a capillary break between all wooden plates and concrete foundations/floors

If wooden framing rests on concrete, install a capillaryForces that lift water or pull it through porous materials, such as concrete. The tendency of a material to wick water due to the surface tension of the water molecules. break between them.
This prevents porous concrete from saturating water-loving wood through capillary action. It's common practice to use a closed-cell foam sill sealer as an air seal between concrete and framing, but it also works as a capillary break.
