Consider recyclable roofing materials
Roofing eventually wears out, so why not chose a material that can be recycled?
Some roofing materials have long life spans, but many others must be replaced every 20 or 30 years. Given this inevitability, using recyclable materials, such as metal, may be preferable. In flat roof installations, roof insulation may need to be replaced along with the roofing. Installations that allow for reuse of the insulation should be considered first, followed by those that use recyclable insulation, such as expanded polystyrene. However, if a choice must be made, very durable materials are still preferable to those that can be recycled.
