Seal air leaks around doors and windows
Drafty houses are uncomfortable.
Sealing air leaks around windows and doors may not make a huge impact on overall air tightness, but it will make a noticeable difference in how comfortable the house is. A smoke stick, which emits a noncombustible chemical smoke, is a handy tool for finding leaks. Hold it at the edges of doors and windows. Air leaks will be revealed by the smoke as it moves in the air currents.
