Use efficient irrigation fixtures

Deliver water directly to the soil.
Efficient fixtures for irrigation get water directly into the soil where it's truly needed rather than spraying it in the air where it will evaporate or miss its target. Options include drip hoses, soaker hoses, low-angle sprinklers, and micro-spray sprinklers. In addition to saving water, these fixtures also reduce the likelihood of fungal damage and rot in vegetable gardens.
