Oakland Home Renovation Gets Platinum Rating

Awarded More LEED Points Than Any Other Renovation in the U.S.

OAKLAND, CA — Homeowners David and Sara Gottfried have received a LEED Platinum rating for their recently completed home renovation in Oakland. According to the U.S. Green Building Council, which David Gottfried founded, their 1,440-square-foot home received the highest LEED for Homes score — 106.5 points out of a possible 136 — of any residential renovation in the country.

The 1915 bungalow now boasts new Marvin windows with low-e double glazing, a 2.7-kW photovoltaic array, a solar thermal system, a rainwater collection system for toilet flushing, and a gray-water recycling system to irrigate the garden. For more information, visit www.gottfriedhome.com.
