Is housewrap okay as roofing underlayment?

A roofing company recently did my roof and instead of using synthetic roofing paper which they started with then they switched and started using house wrap live in WV could this void my warranty of the shingles

    Unless the house wrap has a testing report showing it meets the standards for roof underlayment (for your particular installation and location) in the IRC, then no, this is not okay.

    And the manufacturer’s instructions probably do comment on the underlayment to use and not adhering to their instructions will likely violate the warranty. (Whether the warranty is worth much to begin with is another story.)
