Air barrier under trusses

Richard_ | Posted in Energy Efficiency and Durability on

This may be a different question
Has anybody used zip sheathing under trusses to create an air barrier?

The trusses are 14 inch raised heel
The inner walls can be put in after zip sheathing in attached to the trusses from underneath
Attic access thru gable end
Vented roof

    Yep.

This roof is stick built but IMO it's the same idea.

Yes, it works great. Just consider what you will do at ceiling penetrations for wiring, pipes, ducts, etc.

It makes sense to me if you are using the attic as storage, or you have a finished room. You can get a good air barrier with drywall if installed and sealed correctly, and for a lot less money.
