New Ductwork for Old Furnace

eyoung | Posted in Energy Efficiency and Durability on

Looking for alternate to rigid ducting on a gravity furnace. Is there a new school ducting for an old school gravity furnace? I will be removing the asbestos clad rigid ducting and am in need of an alternative.

It is time to retire that dinosaur of a furnace.
My guess is it is less than 50% efficient.
The real question is what fuel are you using and is it time to switch?

“I will be removing the asbestos clad rigid ducting"

Do you really mean you will be paying a licensed abatement contractor or are you literally doing this as a DIY project?
