Amazon smart air quality monitor

carsonb | Posted in General Questions on

I was surprised to see amazon came out with their own AQ monitor on their front page, “Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor”.  It even seems to support multiple zones. Anyone have experience with it? These are becoming ever more common. Perhaps this will lead to more people paying attention to their range hoods, etc. as their AQ spikes.

It measures CO, VOCs, PM, humidity, and temperature. CO is a weird choice to put in there. It has no ability to sound an alarm for high CO, even though that's a life-threatening emergency, so anyone with combustion in the building should have a separate CO alarm. CO2 would be more useful and appropriate for an air quality sensor.
