    Kendra,

I watched your video. You have a beautiful home and it is a shame that you are having issues with your windows.

I've always thought of Alpen as being a good brand as well. But your issues are indeed alarming. I imagine you have at least $40,000-$50,000 worth of windows/doors there. I would expect that that they would send somebody out and get these fixed.

Have you contacted your installer? I worry that the inability to close and lock the doors as well as the lack of a weather-tight seal might be due to the sills not being level and square(installation issue.)

Good luck in getting this worked out. Hopefully you get some help here on GBA.

Hi, Kendra. I, too, watched your video and feel angered for you that Alpen's "lemons" are blighting your otherwise stunning home! Have you found Alpen manageable to deal with when placing claims? Recently I submitted two separate orders for windows with Alpen (Zenith series fiberglass) for my home in Massachusetts. Both are still in production. I phoned Alpen today to place a third order and the sales rep implied they would NOT honor any warranty claims on said order because I want to buy individual windows for my "window wall" (and have my contractor mullion them on site) as opposed to one single ginormous factory-mulled configuration. My contractor, who has installed Alpen before for other energy retrofit customers, strongly prefers to mull on site. Alpen prefers to sell factory-mulled configurations. I read their "limited lifetime warranty" and saw no exclusion for site-mulled units. In fact, the language of their warranty seems "too good to be true". How have you found them when placing claims? so sorry to read and see the nightmare you are dealing with!
