Attaching corner trim over rigid foam

meglamon | Posted in Green Building Techniques on

I plan on re-siding, with 4″ polyiso panels underneath. Question – I want to use corner trim on outside corners. I also really want the polyiso to overlap the corners – how do I attach the corner trim?
Not sure how to attach the corner trim if the polyiso overlaps the corners.

    Timothy,
Are you planning to install furring strips between the rigid foam and the siding? If so, you can detail your furring strips at the corners to address this problem -- either with wide vertical boards or some horizontal furring strips that are screwed together at the corner.

Yes, I was planning on 1x4 furring strips. I will just have to use wider strips at the corners, in order to secure the strips into the studs.
