Basement-to-Beautiful Insulation

afos82 | Posted in Green Products and Materials on

Has anyone heard or have experience with a basement insulation system called “Basement-to-Beautiful?” I have a quote from a local contractor to furnish and install and trying to figure out some more information on the product. Seems similar to the InsoFast system: 2.5″ of “Silverglo” rigid insulation with integral steel studs and wiring channels. Still trying to track down the specs on the insulation (type, R-value, effective R-value with studs/wiring channels).

Any thoughts or experience with this system is most appreciated!

If it's a factory-made product intended for this application, it's probably fine. I would just confirm that the steel studs are embedded in the insulating material (which is probably EPS or GPS), and ensure that the steel studs are NOT going all the way through the insulating material (which would drastrically reduce thermal performance due to thermal bridging).
