Best caulk for weather exposed crown molding

Greenscape | Posted in General Questions on

I live in an old building that has some cracks along the crown molding that let air in from the outside. The cracks are about 1/8 – 1/4″ wide. I’m looking to seal from the inside. Building is in New England and experiences wide temperature and humidity fluctuations. I don’t plan to paint (for now), so looking for a white paintable caulk.

I’m considering DAP Dynaflex 230, DAP Alex Flex, Sherwin SherMax, or Tower Tech 2.

Thoughts on which of these (or others) would hold up best under the conditions described above.

I’ve found the polyurethane caulks seem to hold up best. Loctite makes many variations in their “PL” line.
