Best way to insulate

mdummer | Posted in Energy Efficiency and Durability on

In climate 6, what is the best way to insulate and not have water issues? insulating in the cold traps moisture, how to eliminate this problem. I have heard that blowing in wet cellulose into wall cavities can trap moisture and rott sheeting and wall studs. Not sure if it is in my budget to use closed cell spray foam. Any suggestions

It sounds like you are just beginning to think about insulation issues. The first place to start to learn about these issues is the GBA Encyclopedia. I recommend these articles:

    Insulation Choices

    Batt and Blanket Insulation

    Blown-In or Loose-Fill Insulation

    Rigid Foam Insulation

    Spray Foam Insulation
