Consultant needed

peterdp | Posted in Project Management on

My wife and I are looking to build a new home in St. Louis, MO. We would like to find an architect who can help us build a very green home.

I have a good architect in mind, however green is not their focus. We were thinking it would be useful to work with a consultant who could guide us and work with the architect to design an extremely efficient home. We are not necessarily looking to be net zero, but we would like a home that is built to the very best efficiency standards available.

We realize that this will entail supervision of both the construction design & building as well as the systems which we install. Does anyone know of a firm that can do this for us?

I really want to use a local architectural firm but hope I could supplement their knowledge with a top-notch green consultant. Thank you for your replies.

    Peter,
Perhaps some GBA readers can suggest someone.

I do know of an engineer in your area -- David Baca, who now works as a project manager at Washington University in St. Louis.

David Baca is a GBA reader. You could look him up on LinkedIn. He might be able to suggest someone in your area.
