Demilec Heatlok or BASF Spraytite

My insulation contractor says he can use with Heatlok or Spraytite.

Is there any reason to choose one over the other?

    Both use HFO rather than HFC as blowing agent?

    Demilec Heatlok is a well regarded product and uses Honeywell's Solstice HFO blowing agent. I have it in my home. Spraytite might be just as good or even better, but I don't have any experience with it. Perhaps ask him when he tends to use one over the other?

    I also have Demilec Heatlok in my attic. Initial spray wasn't high quality, but that wasn't necessarily because of the product, it was probably technique. They came back and fixed.

    BASF Spraytite appears to be equivalent to Demilec Heatlok: http://www.spf.basf.com/DOCS/Spraytite_COMFORT_builder_homeowner.pdf.

    There are actually different types of Heatlock available: https://huntsmanbuildingsolutions.com/en-US/products/closed-cell-insulation. They were one of the first to market with an HFO-blown product, their Foamlok 2000 4G, but I'm not sure what the fine points are between their different products.

    Thank you everyone.

    The Heatlok HFO high lift has an r-7.5/inch and can be sprayed in 6.5" in a single pass.

    But it sure seems like they are both high quality products.

      Jason, don't put too much stock in their stated R-values; it is based on carefully aging the foam for six months. Over time, air displaces the blowing agents in the cells which provide the high R-value. They may report "long term R-value" which is based on accelerated aging for 18 months and projecting that out to five years. All closed cell foam will eventually be about the same as still air, R-5.6/in. But it's impossible to say how long it will take to get there.

        Wow, that is interesting. So all the CC companies who advertise r-values (all higher than 5.6) are being deceptive?
