Does this EPDM roof have seams?

TinyCobalt | Posted in Energy Efficiency and Durability on

I just had a roofing project completed and the roof area was small enough to accommodate one single piece of rubber roofing so I told the contractor that is what I would like to use.

So the crew showed up the first day and asked if I had a forklift. I said no but that I could help him and his co-worker with whatever they needed. The reason they asked, as I found out later, was that they couldn’t care the rubber up because it was too heavy. (We looked into it later, and it was 160 lbs.) So they cut up the rubber and started laying it out in pieces without asking and when I found out I said that it was suppose to be one piece.

So they came back the next day with 3 guys and we were inside the house while they were working. Once they left we checked the roof and found what we think are 7 seams, spaced across the roof at different widths (we thought maybe they had used scraps to save money.)

I took a picture of the seams and also one underneath the fascia drip edge they installed, where it looked like two pieces of rubber were melted together.

Are these seams, or am I missing something here?

Thanks for any input
Damon

    Damon,
Your photos aren't clear enough to determine what they depict.

That said, I imagine that you can tell what a seam is. If it looks like a seam, it's probably a seam. You should call up your roofer to discuss the issue.
