Energy Efficient Bathroom Wall Vent Fan

jackofalltrades777 | Posted in General Questions on

Who makes a good energy efficient bathroom wall vent fan? I am looking for something that would not let in cold/warm air when it was turned off. So maybe something with a hinged flapper door?

On the outside I assume a downward facing exhaust vent hood would be ideal to keep out rain/wind.

Any suggestions would be appreciated…

    This is the best: https://foursevenfive.com/lunos-ego/

I usually like Fantech but I recently installed one of these on a project and I wasn't happy with how poorly it sealed: https://shop.fantech.net/en-US/rvf--4xl--ext--centrifugal--fan/p106306.

      Michael,

Thanks for the info! The Lunos unit is sure nice but pricey at $800 per fan. It's basically a mini HRV unit. The reverse flow is a nice feature.

On one bathroom wall, I have to exit through the interior wall and then through the mechanical room, then to the outside wall. It will probably be a 8-10 foot duct run. I assume these bathroom wall units will allow for a longer duct run.
