Flashing windows with integral J-channel

chrislene | Posted in General Questions on

Hi,
when flashing windows with integral j channel is there some sort of kick out flashing at the bottom to divert water out over (vinyl) siding when it flows down the side channels? Does anyone have any pictures? What product to use? Thanks
c

Chris, I too am interested in using windows with integrated J in the future for ease of installation BUT with a head flashing of course. Here's an old FHB thread that's come up when I've searched the topic before.

As I understand it vinyl has an integrated rain or at least drain screen so some kind of sill kick out flashing doesn't seem especially important to me but it wouldn't be worse! Let me know what you decide.
I just installed a trim block with head flashing above it by putting right under a course of siding (notice how gunked up the J channel is above that window in the bottom of the picture). I'd like to do this with a whole house's windows in the future.
