How to deal with foam on two sides of an outdoor wall?

Sofiane | Posted in General Questions on

Hi,

A company I hired to insulate a rim joist with spray foam sprayed an area that wasn’t meant to be sprayed as there was already rigid foam on the exterior wall. This was explained to the spray foam contractor twice.

I am in zone 6.

The exterior wall is an unheated garage in an area that is unlikely to see water infiltration from the outside, but there is a water line running in that section that leads to the garage.

Would you suggest removing the spray foam in that area while the rim joist is still exposed?

Thanks,

Sofiane
