I can buy foil backed osb cheaper right now than regular osb. Pro’s and con’s? It would be used on a hip roof over indoor pool . Asphalt shingles will be very dark. Paint store has a paint called E Barrier to paint under side of exiting osb for same purpose. Pro’s and con’s on it.

It will be a vapor BARRIER due to the foil facer -- no drying at all through it to the side with the foil. Aside from that, I don't really see any downsides. Just make sure to plan your assembly properly with regards to drying.
