HDPE vs. PEX tubing

user-719615 | Posted in GBA Pro Help on

Can HPDE piping be used for domestic water plumbing as a substitute for PEX? I’m concerned about the health issues around PEX? Any drawbacks to using HPDE in potable water plumbing applications?

there is a polypropylene alternative, which uses no internal fittings or glues, it is fusion welded
aquathermpipe would be an example but finding an installer could be tough

i don't think you'll find HDPE pipe in home sizes and fittings or a plumber using it
