HRV balancing

Mesmer | Posted in Green Building Techniques on

We just installed an erv in our home (dantherm 450 E1) and since day one of commissioning it started throwing an error called “e3 dameper/ system imbalance”

Sadly the manufacturer is not very clear on what might cause this. Either the bypass damper is not closing shut or bad commissioning.

My intake volume is 170m3h and exhaust is 200m3h. Are these values considered unbalanced??

In the manual it does say that exhaust flow should be higher than intake.

I also noticed that the alarm triggers when the exhaust temperature is 3 degrees Celsius higher than outside air, basically the erv is evacuating too hot air. Does this seem right? Do erv systems exhaust track so close to outdoor temps (1-2 degrees C)?
