I am in the process of putting together a Request for Proposals to install 3 ducted and 1 ductless mini-splits in our home. This will include the removal of the existing gas furnaces/AC units as well as ductwork.

I did a load-based calculation as well as a Manual J. I hired a mechanical engineer who did the ductwork layout as well as Manual D for the ducted systems. The units are spec’d out and will be Fujitsu.

I’d like to get the important requirements into the RFP. Does anyone have an experience they can share with requirements that would be good to make sure the contractor agrees to upfront? An example would be to make sure they flash the refrigerant lines as they exit the exterior wall.
