ICF Foundation Wall

MickButler | Posted in Plans Review on

I know that none of you are structural engineers but has anyone used ICF taper top forms before? Are they designed to carry the same loads and the center core of the wall or to just add minor structural support for brick ledges or siding? I included a picture of the floor assembly for reference. Is this 2×6 wall properly supported? Building in 4A.
Thanks in advance.

    Mick,

It's all load-bearing. You can locate the wall where it is shown.

      Malcolm,
This is why I love this site. Thank you.

        Mick,

If you are using exterior foam on the walls above like the section you posted, I'd consider setting the framing in so that only the rain-screen gap protrudes past whatever cladding you will have on the ICF below. That way you don't have to worry about protecting the bottom of the exterior foam on the walls above, and don't end up with a ledge around the building.

    Malcolm,
Thank you for the consideration. I am using rigid mineral wool.
