ISO energy audit

Muddytyres | Posted in Energy Efficiency and Durability on

I’m in rural WV, zone 5A

How do I find someone that can come in and give recommendations on appropriate ways to improve the efficiency of my house? Local contractors really don’t do this and I have one person that does blower door tests but that’s it, he does not do energy audits. There are definitely insulation improvements that can be made but I don’t know where to start now. There are MANY MANY roof lines and odd additions.

BTW, if anyone’s looking to partially retire and do this kind of work, there’s going to be a heck of a growing market in this area for it.

Is there a ‘virtual’ energy audit where I could video areas and get suggestions? The ‘stack’ in my house is VERY evident.

    Sara,

You can search for a Resnet professional at https://www.resnet.us/. Some utilities offer no-cost energy audits as well.
