Looking for Green Home Builder in Southern California

[email protected] | Posted in General Questions on

We are looking for recommendations for a green home builder that could build in the Temecula area in California. Temecula sits between LA and San Diego. We would like to have a home that is energy efficient, has solar and rainwater harvesting included, with a greywater system. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Tom,
You might want to start by contacting local home energy raters (those certified by RESNET to provide HERS ratings, or those with some type of certification from BPI).

You can visit the RESNET and BPI web sites to search for certified people near you:

    RESNET

    Building Performance Institute

Call a few energy raters up and ask them to recommend local builders. These energy raters tend to deal with builders who care about home performance.
