Minisplit Installers in Eastern Massachusetts

willymo | Posted in General Questions on

I have a 2 family in Cambridge, MA; current heat by Buderus boiler, which has a cracked heat exchanger and needs to be replaced. I also have a house in RI that I put mini-splits into 2 years ago, so I am comfortable going that route.

I have done the quicky heat calc for the building using “Out With The Old, In With The New” anweld figure I need about 45KBTU for the building (~2900SF, well insulated).

I’m looking for recs for Mitsubishi or Fujitsu installers in my area.

Boucher has a good reputation. Didn’t use them. Used Ace Energy. Not sure I would use them again.

We had a good experience with Cubby Oil out of Wilmington. They installed Mitsubishi units at my mother's house in Stoneham, and they cover the greater Boston area.

Terry Knight handles their new equipment installs. Here's his contact info:

We had Muirfield Mechanical replace our gas furnace with a Mitsubishi air handler this winter. They had installed minisplits in 3 bedrooms as part of a Newton program in the fall of 2020. We planned to switch to all electric when the furnace broke, which it did in early Feb. I’m not knowledgable enough to know how well they sized it and all that, but I know they took care of us!
