low voc tape for foam board seams in basement

rob_s | Posted in General Questions on

I’m finishing a basement room, adding 2″ Foamular boards to the inside surface of the exterior walls and will have 2×4 framing with sheetrock in front of the foam. I picked up some Zip System tape intending to use it to seal the seams between the boards. However, the two rolls of unused tape sitting in the room are creating a very strong odor and I’m concerned that that odor might never go away if I use it for this interior application.

Anyone have thoughts on this or recommendations on a different tape?

Thanks!
