LVL / I-Joist – Primer for Paraffin wax before ccSPF

BirchwoodBill | Posted in Energy Efficiency and Durability on

I am working on details for LVL and I-Joists and looking at the FAQ sheet (FAQs – Pacific Woodtech Corporation). It indicates that the LVL has a paraffin wax to coat the LVL – and to treat with a primer before spray foam insulation.

My question is how other people dealt with paraffin wax on LVL or I-Joists.
Which product did you use?

The roof assembly is vented, so I have the option of using a BIBS without ccSPF.

Here's something I had back-pocketed for my upcoming garage/shop build with a few exposed LVL beams (I found it while looking for painting info, not SPF info):

    https://www.naylornetwork.com/spf-nwl/pdf/SPFA_TT-I5__Adhesion_to_Engineered_Wood_Products_2019.pdf

I absolutely love resources like that; I'm an engineer and unabashed nerd.

I have not used/applied any of the info in that doc, so I can't comment on efficacy.
