    Peter,

A 1:12 pitch is essentially a flat roof. There are metal panels that can be sealed to work at that pitch, but the standard methods of integrating chimneys, ridge caps, ventilation and eaves on a metal roof all rely on the slope to work. The detailing of a flat roof, with scuppers etc, doesn't lend itself to integration with metal roofing. You need to increase the slope, or go to a membrane, with all the attendant detailing that comes with it.

    Peter,
Old-time roofers who know what they are doing can install a copper roof with soldered seams for you. Expect to pay a very high price for this type of roof -- but at least the roof will last over 100 years.
