Minisplit floor unit airflow direction

carsonZone5b | Posted in General Questions on

Hello GBA,
I have a mitsubishi floor unit mounted inset into a wall.  It is used primarily for heating.  My issue is that it blows straight out or a bit up, and often onto people near it.  It would be far better if it blew towards the ground, like a wall unit would. I wish I could flip the whole unit upside down. Would it be possible to get a supply diffuser to angle airflow down?  I’m afraid it may cause a short circuit and just cycle the same air, but hopefully on high setting it would throw it far enough out.  Failing that, what if I get grills to at least spread it to the sides (the builtin ones don’t do much).  Any suggestions?  Thanks!
