Minisplit shoulder season Use

Sleepy Sheep | Posted in General Questions on

We are entering the shoulder heating season in New England where we need heat at night but not really during the day. Should we leave our minisplits on even when its about 55F out to run 24/7 or turn off if no heat is needed?

I would just set the temperature you want a leave it be. It will just circulate the air using the fan and not run the compressor if the thermostat is satisfied during the day. Running the fan on the indoor unit uses barely any electricity, so I think set it and forget it is the way to go.
