My wife and I are beginning the process of building a home in Johnson City, Tennessee

Don19 | Posted in General Questions on

I have been unsuccessful finding a local architect that has ever built a house that uses the green building techniques in design. On the PHI website the state of TN is not even listed on the professionals list. I am surprised that there are not any located in Knoxville. So first question is whether anyone knows of any architects or home performance contractors in the Johnson City area. So far the closest that I have found is Ashville, NC which is only an hour or so away so that is probably workable?? If I have to go 3-4 hours away to hire an architect what is the baseline level of involvement that I will need to pay for to make sure that the architect is engaged in the project. Zone is 4A. This is a single family residence.

    Don,
Some Googling returned links to these web pages. I make no claims about these businesses or services; you'll have to do your own research to see if any of these companies make sense for your plans.
